What We Do

Annual Generator Maintenance

Oil and filter changes, new spark plugs, air filter replacement, and valve lash adjustment to keep your generator running the way it's supposed to.

Generator Battery Health Checks

Load and voltage testing on the starting battery, the most common reason a standby generator fails to start when it's needed most.

Simulated Outage Testing

A full load-bank test that puts your system under real outage conditions, so you find out it works before a storm does the testing for you.

Repairs & Troubleshooting

Diagnosis and repair for generators that are already acting up, plus pre-season checkups before storm season arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should a standby generator be serviced?

At least once a year, or whatever interval your manufacturer specifies. Annual service replaces oil, filters and spark plugs and catches problems before they leave you without power.

Why won't my generator start during a power outage?

The most common cause is a weak or dead starting battery. Other causes include a closed fuel valve or fuel supply problem, a tripped breaker, worn spark plugs or filters, and controller faults. A battery test and annual maintenance prevent most of these.

What is a load bank test?

A load bank test runs the generator under a controlled electrical load, simulating a real outage. It shows whether the generator can hold steady voltage and frequency while carrying your house, which the unloaded weekly self-test can't tell you.

Does the weekly self-test mean my generator is fine?

Not necessarily. The self-test typically runs the generator briefly with little load, so it can pass while a weak battery, worn plugs or a load problem is waiting to cause a failure in a real outage.

What areas do you serve?

Homes throughout Washtenaw County, Michigan, including Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Chelsea and Dexter.

What should I include when I request service?

Your address, the generator make and model if you know it, and a short description of what's going on or the service you need. The request form takes about a minute.
